I am a new user, and there isn't a ton of info around on the Vintage Solo's, so I thought I'd contribute a review in case it's helpful.

    Review

I bought this as a 'blem' from an eBay seller. Other than the blem mentioned in the auction though, fit and finish of the guitar are fantastic. I'd say it's a safe bet the eBay seller didn't do any setup on it, but it came setup quite well out of the box. And that's after 2 weeks in shipping/transit.

The hardware is pretty decent on the guitar with the exception of the roller bridge being a little flimsy. Even by import standards, it's not the sturdiest roller bridge. It's a shame considering all the other hardware, even the import Bigsby is pretty decent.

I mainly play Filterton equipped guitars, which is one reason this guitar appealed to me. The pickups are decent for the price range of the guitar. I have a Reverend Flatroc, which is a similar price range guitar, and it's "Revtrons" are exceptional. If Schecter had gone with something along those lines with this guitar, it would be an even cooler guitar. The Revtrons are slightly hotter, and something to those specs would have worked a lot better with the coil tap option on this guitar.

Other than that, the guitar is feather light and the neck is fantastic. It seems to hold tune quite well when using the Bigsby.

    Conclusion

I play a mix of crazy Rockabilly and Surf meets Punk and Metal. So I am a sucker for guitars like this with the 'vintage modern' design. The guitar is just perfect for my style. I would recommend it to anyone else looking for a Duo-jet type tone on a budget.

I bought it as a backup for my Reverend Flatroc, and it will perform that function well. Buying new, I'd give the Reverend the slight edge quality wise as a comparison to a similar featured guitar in the price ange.
