    Avenger Ghost's guitar build thread.

    So this is where I'm going to post my stutus and updates/pics of my build. Right now I'm just trying to figure out what kind of wood to use and what shape to go for.


    I'm thining to use sapele mahogany: http://www.tkcustomguitars.com/suppl...ahogany-blank/


    What do you guys think? This tkcustoms has a few nice body blanks other then the sapele also.

    I think you should go to a wood mill cause that wood will cost you 1/3 the price

    Go with regular mahogany. You're just gonna stain or cover it anyway right?

    I found a wood mill like 5 miles outside of town I never knew about.
    They had bubinga, maple, zebrawood, mahogany, oak, pine and more!

    Most likely just tung oil or clear gloss it if I get saplele.

    I did. I found this one website that finds them. the closest one they found was like Maryland or some shit.

    I highly doubt that, I got an easy way.
    Call your local hardware store- home central, lowes, home depot. Whatever.
    Ask if they keep any hard woods in stock- mahogany, maple, ebony and such.

    When they say no, ask if they know any place that does.

    That's how i found the wood mill I didn't even know about, a guy at a home central recommended us to go there
