Used Hollywood Classic

G'day all... Ever since getting a 35th Anniversary C-1 and falling in love with how it plays I've been on the lookout for a Hollywood Classic (which the 35th is based on) which I can use as my everyday git and not worry about needlessly banging up the highly collectable 35th C-1! I did buy a H/Raiser solo6 but it just doesn't do it for me as well - totally different sound and feel - also after playing the ebony f/board of the 35th, rosewood sux.

Well in my periodic searches every month or so I've finally come across one in the nearest capital city. I'm actually going there this weekend so have emailed the seller and asked if I can go check it out. He says it's been well looked after and he is the original owner. The finish is perfect but the bridge and pickups are slightly tarnished. Comes with a fitted hardcase. I've seen this guys other listings and he either owns a shop or is a massive GAS sufferer with endless cash... I counted 30+ guitars along the walls and at least 5 amps. Say's he's clearing some out to buy more!

He's asking $1,000 AUD for it (around $1080 USD). Considering C-1's sell for around $1,400 over here brand new and this HC is no longer in production and in the 7 months I've been looking this is the first one I've found over here... do you think it's worth it?

From what I've read they were $1,400 MRSP for the 2008 model. People were buying them for around $1,000.

I've read stories on some websites of people picking them up in the US for under $1000USD. Schecters aren't cheap over here! I brought my solo6 from the states - under half the price including shipping.

I just haven't even been able to find one on US eBay or any of the online shops. I did come across a 2nd hand one on Guitar Centre website for around $500 USD last year but they wouldn't ship to Australia.

I will go check it out still, I know the same thing would sell for less in the US but if it's in as good a nick as he says then in comparison the new price here it might be a reasonable deal still.

Whoa talk down to 100??? Or 1000?

I've seen some used ones around in the us go for 600 to 1000. So since they go for more over there then id say go for it.

I know guitar guitar had some hollywood classics for sale including the ultra one. Don't know if they ship to austrailia though

I can't believe I missed my chance to buy one. I almost went crazy and blew all my money on one from Amazon as my first guitar. It was like $700-$800 at the time. I can't remember -_-
