Looking for info on 80's strat

Hello forum

Just discovered this site after pondering over a guitar we own.

It's a translucent wine red colour strat style guitar and we think it's early 80's. Now it's unusual in that it has 2 humbucker pickups, a fender bridge but more importantly all the hardware (Inc pick guard and pickup covers) is gold plated.

From previous investigations it's all stamped schecter under the pick guard. Would this be a factory build or more likely an assembled guitar, is there a way to tell the difference and where might we find a serial number or any other I'd markings

Sometimes, If the neck is a bolt on, they will put the serial number in the neck pocket or on the neck where they meet. sorta to hide it. Or they could have had a sticker with the number and it could have been lost from a previous owner, I had a LTD H-207 that I bought with out a sn# sticker from a pawn shop. Also, (im not sure how acurate this is though) there is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schecter_Guitar_Research So if It seems like if it is 84 or after it could most likely be a factory Production.

Well iv'e got some pics and done a bit of pulling apart

There are no identifying markings on the body or neck at all (just had neck off) The only markings are Schecter Stickers on the back of the pickups and scratch plate.

It has a 3 way pickup switch 1 vol and 2 tone pots (both with coil taps) Machnine heads have 'Made In Germany' and what looks like an 's' logo

The body has a banding of dark wood running through it, or should i say 5 bands.

I suspect its a combination of parts but it would of been nice to confirm the id of the neck and body as something.

Any further info would be great. Its definately late 70's/ early 80's as we have owned it since around 1985/86 and it was aged then. The seller reckoned he'd had it for a 4/5 years and he bought it secondhand

the tuners are most likely Schallers. they are made in Germany. It could be possible it was sorta like a kit. BUT If it is that old there is also a possibility it is in fact a Schecter...Looks nice I I';d love to have it. The body with the strips are pretty nice too.

What does that bridge say? Kind of looks like Fender but it's pretty blurry to tell.

Its a genuine Fender USA bridge, but saying that it has a either a strange or knackered trem thread.
Plays very nicely, no that im much of a guitarist, and sustains well.

Anybody who has seen it over the years have all wanted to buy it and i famously remember on guitar shop owner saying 'give it to me and take anything off the shelf in return' and he wasnt joking!

Never seen anything like it before and probably never will

Its bloody heavy!
