Hello, new here, looking to sell Van Nuys Strat-style.

    Hi.
I have had for about 20 years a one-piece koa Strat-style Schecter, maple neck with faint birds-eye, original bridge. I'm fairly certain it's a California-made Schecter. Also I have the original pickups, which were the purple-covered Seymour stacks. The original pick guard was made by Moonstone, it was burled walnut, I believe, but got destroyed about 10 years ago, unfortunately. The nut is brass, tuners Schallers. Anyway, was wondering if anyone here is interested in purchasing it. I'm writing this off-the-cuff away from my house, don't have the serial numbers or pictures right now, but can provide them if interested. Thanks for any replies.

Post up any and all info because people can stumble across the forum via search engines if they are searching for one.
Plus we like to see pictures.
Also post what you are willing to part with it for because that just helps cut out the crap talk.

Anyways very interested to see it.
I know you can get replacement pickguards for these things, we found the site and one point and sometimes they hit ebay.
Though I don't think I have seen a walnut one?

Here's some photos. I see "faint bird's-eye" for the neck isn't really accurate, I must have been thinking of another neck. The headstock never had the SCHECTER logo on it, but it's stamped on the heel. The nameplate has a "G" which I've since read may be Dallas or Japan. My feeling is that this was a parts guitar. I think the body at least is California, as did an Austin luthier named Chris Forsage, who refretted the 1st 14 frets about 5 years ago. The bridge has a brass block, and I think the saddles are brass with chrome plating. The nut is brass.
I've included a shot of the pickups that were in it when I got it. The switch and tone pots are the originals, the tone pots are Dimarzios, the switch is Carling. I'm going to see if I can figure out some dates; I may need to desolder the pots to read them. The body is pretty dinged up. I think the finish was nitro, which is flaking off in a lot of areas. The vibrato bar is not original. When I got it it only had the single strap button on the end.

    I'm thinking $2K.

I've only seen a few pictures of them on other guitars. I believe they're the old version of the SD HotStack. The newer ones have a slot over the bar pole-piece. I did manage to find replacement covers for them, oddly enough, in the same store where I bought this guitar.

It may have been maple. It was stained to match the guitar. I have some old photos somewhere, if anyone's interested I'll scan them.
