    JAZZ 6 Help!

Hello out there, pretty cool bunch so I hope someone can lend a hand.

I have a Jazz 6 (it's a 337 clone) and Schecter can't help at all, not even with owner's manuals or schematics. Bought this about 5 or 6 years ago, never plugged it into an amp. Found this yesterday and it is driving me nuts.

Both pups work individually with the three way switch as normal.

With the selector switch in the middle position (both pups), all pots off, I can turn the neck pup up and get volume. With all pots off, if I try to turn up the bridge pup, I get no volume at all from it like it is not there. Starting again in the middle position with everything off, I turn the neck up to get volume and then I gradually turn up the bridge and I get the blending in the tone as if it's working.

Spoke with the Schecter tech this morning but he really didn't have any answers nor any documentation.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

    Thanks much!

I can't help you with this, I don't know enough about the electronics to give any advice. But if nobody else on here can help you, take it to a luthier or tech (NOT GC or sam ash), somebody trained analyzing the problem in person should be able to figure out what's wrong.

Sounds like the bridge pup is wired through the neck pup.

    Thanks for the replies.

I can post a pic of the guitar but what may be better would be a YouTube link demoing the problem. Let me see what I can do about that, I'm pretty challanged when it comes to that junk.

Since there are no drawings, I went to Seymore Duncan's site and pulled up a schematic of 2 humbuckers, 2 vols, 2 tones, 3 way and 2 push-pulls. Best I can see the basic wiring is okay but it was done in a real roundabout way. Could use a little cleanup so I may need to pull it out to really see everything. If it comes out, all new stuff goes back in as now it has those mini-pots.

I hope I can help. It just sounds like somebody wired it wrong. I think it's a great idea to replace everything when you do pull it apart, that way you'll known it's done right with the stuff you want.

I'm just going to bite the bullet and replace the pots and switches with a Mojotone setup. I trust the "Seymour Duncan Design" pups are acceptable. Thanks for the help.
