Schecter petition

It has been a sad couple weeks. I went to Guitar Center and never had any intention of buying a schecter. I played on a Hellraiser Solo 6 and loved it, I quickly spotted a couple dents and scratching on thier floor model so drove home and ordered my prestine solo 6 with a GC rep. My baby arrives, with a nasty crack on the fretboard binding from one fret to another. Such disappointment, but hell thats life.. the next one will be great! The exchange comes, crack on the binding of the fretboard, AGAIN. 1st fret, top binding, I now notice other smaller stress lines coming off the frets. At this point Im tripping. I go to my crappy local schecter dealer, he has ONE guitar with fret board binding, low and behold his has a crack. WHAT THE HELL. I start looking at other guitars, Ibanez was what he had the most stock of. NOT ONE had these issues. I get home, break out my Jackson DXMG I got last year, its PRESTINE. It looks like it was made by god himself. I start noticing other imprefections. Mabye the couple jacksons I have have spoiled me over the few years I have played. These Indonesian schecters are crap, all your paying for is high quality hardware and a sub par guitar, so disappointing I really wanted to be a schecter fan too.. You can let them know they lost my business to Jackson as it looks like my next purchase will be a hard tail jackson.

im sorry dude i hope you read this man, the old ones are GREAT if you are willing to buy a used one you WONT be dissapointed i hope they clean up they're act and you give them another chance one day, ive LOVED every schecter i got. i had a $650 ibanez with some gross binding work, all the red stain got on the binding. but anyways sorry about that dude, seriously. :/

Thanks for the post man.. Its sad I really love this guitar its sick less this binding crap. The finish is sick, the body binding is flawless, the headstock, flawless. Sounds SICK, Plays SICK, Looks SICK.. but I have some crazy ass 20/17 eyes up close, nothing escapes me and I sometimes wish I needed reading glasses just for reasons such as this. My wife cannot even see the issues. I can feel the cracks with my finger nail, I know Im not insane. This morning (after dreaming I bought some crappy chevy truck I didnt want and couldnt return it to the used lot) I woke up in a panic, realized it was all about this guitar and called GC. They setup ANOTHER exchange which I think I am going to cancel in the morning and just return for my $ back. At this point I just dont believe they will be able to send me one that is up to my standards super sad

Ok Ok so I just got up from sitting down with the schecter and decided hell, its GCs dime, I will let them proceed with thier 2nd exchange. If I can get a damn guitar that doesnt have a crack in it, and doesnt have some other major issue then F'in A I will keep the damn thing. The Jacksons craftsmanship is AWESOME. Again it looks like God made this thing, but has EMG-HZ passive crap in it (which seems to be thier big thing these days with thier affordable models) and a pain in the ass FR bridge, and I just love the way this Schecter feels and looks and like the idea of being able to drop tune this thing on the fly. GOD HELP ME please do not give me another cracked POS.. Please guys.. pray to whatever god it is you pray to for me! Here goes round 3 I will post how this turns out in a few days

I love my Hellraiser Solo-6!!!!!! It was crafted in Indonesia in 2010. The only issue I have is the Fleur de lis is off centered to left. It does bug me but I got over it. I wish you luck!!!!!! I'll pray to the Rock Gods above for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got rid of a $650 Jackson, and I'll agree. The finish and binding on it were awesome, though I didn't like the playability quite as much as my Schecter. I can't tell if I'm lucky or if everyone with problems have been unlucky, but my Schecter is a late 2011 model, and it's flawless. I absolutely love everything about this guitar.

All I can say is that I hope the next one is what you're looking for. If you can get one without these stupid problems, you'll love it. They really are great guitars. They just seem to have gone to shit lately, and it's really disappointing.

Update here.. I have GC put a special hold on the order to inspect it. No clue how many they had to open to find me a good one, but they did. Virtually flawless, TOTALLY acceptable. I eyeballed this thing like a 12 year old eye balling Stifflers moms tits.. and its as good as indonesia can get it I have no doubt. No sloppy abolone work either, looks good. The last one had some shoddy work. TOTALLY please, I will be sticking around the forum it looks like. Maybe find someone willing to trade a decent tube amp for my Jackson LOL doubt I will be playing it much now..
