New C-1 with chips at fretboard end

I posted this in the general forum but was told to repost it over here so here you go.

Can this be fixed with some kind of oil or stain? This is supposedly a new instrument, not factory b-stock.

Otherwise, the guitar seems to play fine. Its very similar to the discontinued Classic model minus the vine inlay.

Its a C-1 Professional, Made in Indonesia, and the serial number starts with N1108 so maybe it was made in 2011?

I was told from the Schecter that after the letter the fist two numbers are the year, so it is a 2011.

We really should get that letter/Facebook campaign going. I don't want to be weary of buying guitars from Schecter in the future.

I'mm already doing some facebook riot with friends...keep posting links to this forum since a buddy of mine did so

I'm a user in many forums,it's so deliciously easy for me talking crap about what schecter is doing. What are they saving/earning by using cheap materials and lacking quality can be nullified if a certain number of people stops buying their products.
And you all know,on the web rumors run SO fast.

I decided to go ahead and return it. I am afraid to exchange because of the other issues I've seen here

Schecter really does make great guitars, but they've just been having some quality control issues lately. I'd say it's worth trying to go for an exchange. You can always send that one back too. If you get one that doesn't have any major problems, you'll probably (hopefully) love it.
